How GuitarAtlas collects, uses and protects your personal data.

This policy is being prepared and is pending final legal review. It reflects how the site currently works, but is not yet a binding legal document.

1. Who We Are

This website is operated by POLPROG (Damian Skrzynski), based in Poland. For any privacy related questions contact us at [email protected].

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve this website:

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address and message content provided voluntarily when you use our contact form.
  • Newsletter sign ups: email address provided when you opt in to the newsletter.
  • Analytics data with consent: anonymised usage data such as pages visited, approximate location at country or city level, device type, browser type and session duration.
  • Cookies and local storage: small data files used for essential functionality (language preference, theme) and, with your consent, for analytics.

3. Essential Technologies (Always Active)

  • Language preference cookie: remembers your selected language.
  • Theme preference: remembers your display theme preference.
  • Cookie consent status: remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies.
  • Session token (when signed in): keeps you authenticated.

4. Optional Analytics and Tracking (Consent Required)

The following tools are activated only if you give explicit consent via the cookie banner. We do not use Facebook Pixel or any other behavioural advertising tools.

5. How We Use Your Data

  • To respond to your inquiries submitted through the contact form.
  • To deliver newsletter messages you have opted in to.
  • To understand general website usage patterns and improve our content (analytics, with consent only).
  • To ensure the website functions correctly (essential cookies).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Newsletter and contact mails are dispatched through our SMTP provider configured in environment variables; no other third parties receive your data.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and applicable data protection laws you have the right to:

  • Access, correct or delete your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
  • Object to data processing or request data portability.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every newsletter email.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: UODO, uodo.gov.pl).

8. Data Retention

Contact form data is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated last updated date.
