Why it matters to musicians
Built by POLPROG, the team behind GuitarAtlas, SonaPhore puts you in a private listening room. Pick one of six reference systems, swap speakers, amplifiers, sources and cables, place the speakers, treat the room and walk around it while the music plays. A Web Audio simulation shapes the sound for every choice, so you can hear how gear, placement and acoustics relate. It is a stylised, educational simulation, not a measurement of real equipment.
- The room shapes what you hear as much as the gear does.
- Hearing a change is faster than reading about it.
- Level-matched, blind comparisons keep the judgement honest.
- Placement and treatment cost little and change a lot.
- Everything runs in the browser, on a computer, tablet or phone.
- It teaches relationships and trade-offs, not the exact sound of one product.
See it in action

Take a seat: the room renders in real time while your music plays.

Swap loudspeakers, amplifiers, sources and DACs and hear the change.

Pick a room and treat it: from a minimal modern space to a concert hall.
Features that make practice work
Swap reference gear
Try speakers, amplifiers, sources and cables in seconds, or start from one of six curated reference systems.
Compare fairly with blind A/B
Switch between two setups with levels matched automatically, and hide the labels so your ears decide.
Place the speakers
Fine-tune distance, toe-in and the listening seat, with the stereo triangle and first reflections drawn in the room.
Shape the room's acoustics
Choose one of nine rooms, add panels and treatment, and read the reverberation time and room modes as they change.
Walk the room
Listen from anywhere, not only the sweet spot: the stereo image and the treble shift as you move.
See the sound
Follow the signal from source to ear, with a live frequency response, a spectrum analyser and the sound field drawn in 3D.
Built for the way guitarists practice
Plan a listening room
Hear what panels, a different room size or a new seat would change before you buy or move anything.
Understand gear matching
Pair speakers and amplifiers and hear how their character combines, level matched so loudness does not fool you.
Train critical listening
Blind A/B comparisons sharpen your ear for tonal balance, stereo width and room sound.
Learn room acoustics by ear
Reflections, reverberation and room modes become something you can hear and see, not only read about.

Frequently asked questions
Is SonaPhore free?
Yes. It runs in the browser and needs no account.
Do I need to install anything?
No. A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari is enough, on desktop or mobile. Good headphones or speakers help.
How accurate is the sound?
It is a stylised, educational simulation. It demonstrates relative tonal and acoustic concepts, not the exact sound of real equipment, and it does not replace a real audition.
Does SonaPhore collect my data?
No. Your room and preferences are stored on your own device and are not sent anywhere.
Is SonaPhore by the same team as GuitarAtlas?
Yes. Both are built by POLPROG.
